The Grayston Unity is an independent bar owned by folks who live in Halifax. The building dates back to the 1860s and is located opposite the glorious Halifax Town Hall.

Since opening in May 2016 The Grayston Unity has been awarded the Yorkshire Post Pub of the Week and Calderdale CAMRA Pub of the Season. The Grayston Unity was also the 2018 Parliamentary Pub of the Year for Yorkshire & Humberside and received the ‘Bar of the Year 2018’ award in the Halifax Courier Business Awards.

The Book Corner is an independent bookshop in The Piece Hall, Halifax.

Opening in September 2017, The Book Corner is proud to have brought an independent bookshop back to Halifax. They stock a hand picked and eclectic range of brand new and classic titles for fiction and non-fiction lovers and have a dedicated children’s area too. They won The Halifax Courier Business Awards Independent Retailer of the Year in 2018 and were regional finalists for Independent Bookshop of the Year 2019.

The Albany Arcade is located in Halifax Borough Market, a wonderful Victorian market that sits bang in the centre of Halifax, 2 minutes walk from The Piece Hall, and 5 minutes walk from the station and Eureka Children’s museum. Meandering Bear is a new proudly independent bar opening in Halifax this summer. From the folks behind the award winning Grayston Unity, the bar is located close to The Piece Hall/Square Chapel & Westgate Arcade.
